This is a translation for your convenience. In case of doubt, the German version of these terms is authoritative.
Rules for radio stations, short and simple
What you may do and what you must never do:
✔ Allowed:
- Broadcast the shows unchanged on your own station (via download or stream)
- Adapt the title of the show to fit your programme
- Use or adapt promotional material with the presenter's consent
- Record the show internally for quality control or as proof (not for further use!)
- On laut.fm, set the shows in the pool to PRIVATE
- Use your own account (no sharing with others)
✖ Forbidden (may lead to account suspension):
- Pass on, distribute, upload or publicly share shows with third parties
- Use recordings for later broadcast, redistribution or publication
- Cut, rearrange or remix the content (apart from the title)
- Share the account or circumvent a suspension
- Make shows public (for example not setting them to private on laut.fm)
In short: the show is exclusive to your station. No distribution, no further use of recordings. Adapting the title is fine.
Rules for producers, short and simple
What you may do as a producer and what you must never do:
✔ Allowed:
- Upload your own shows and release them to stations
- Exclude specific stations from your show (set a blocklist)
- Decide on your promotional material yourself (logo, photos, jingles)
- Set your own prices for paid formats
✖ Forbidden (may lead to suspension):
- Upload third-party content without holding the rights (music, contributions, jingles)
- Upload content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, personality rights)
- Unilaterally change or withdraw shows after release (without good reason)
- Upload discriminatory, unlawful or youth-endangering content
In short: only upload your own content or content that is legally free. Stay fair towards stations and the community.
Terms of use and rules
Syndications4Radio is a community platform for radio makers, producers and radio stations. By registering or using the platform you accept these terms.
A. Rules for the platform (shows and syndication)
1. The right of use
You receive a simple, non-transferable right of use. It applies exclusively to broadcasting the shows on your own radio station. The content of the shows may not be modified. The title of a show may be adapted so that it fits your programme better. Promotional material such as logos, photos, texts or jingles may only be modified or used with the explicit consent of the presenter or producer.
Passing on, distributing, reproducing or making the shows publicly available (in whole or in part) to third parties, meaning other stations, persons, platforms or social media, is strictly forbidden without the written consent of the producer and of Syndications4Radio.
Internal recordings for quality control or as proof are allowed. However, such recordings may not be used for redistribution, later broadcast or publication.
Complete and correct details at registration are a prerequisite for use. The station must display a complete legal notice (name, address, place of residence) in an easily recognisable place on its website or, for pure laut.fm stations without their own website, in the station description or profile on laut.fm. Without reachable legal notice details (or an equivalent), no shows will be released.
2. Delivery and access
Every radio station receives its own password-protected access. Sharing the account is forbidden. The shows may only be used by the requesting station. For stations on laut.fm, the show must be set to PRIVATE in the pool.
3. Costs
Most shows are free of charge. If a show is subject to a fee, this is clearly indicated. Billing and contracts run directly between the station and the producer. Syndications4Radio merely facilitates the contact and does not conclude its own contracts or handle payments. Claims for withdrawal or warranty are therefore directed exclusively at the respective producer.
4. Networks and distributors
External and non-transparent distribution is not allowed. Station networks should use the representative function of Syndications4Radio. Only this way is a traceable and legally sound delivery possible.
5. Deception and circumvention of suspensions
If someone circumvents a suspension (for example by renaming the station, creating a new account or obtaining content via third-party stations), we treat this as deception. We reserve the right to suspend all accounts involved.
6. GEMA and GVL
Every radio station is responsible for registering with GEMA, GVL and other collecting societies as well as for paying all fees.
7. Support and liability
Support is provided on a voluntary basis and on a best-effort basis. We accept no liability for the content of the shows or for damages caused by outages or late delivery, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
8. Copyright notices and clearing
We take copyright and neighbouring rights very seriously and try to resolve conflicts fairly and without bureaucracy.
If you believe that content distributed via Syndications4Radio infringes your copyright, neighbouring rights or other rights, please contact us directly first before taking legal steps.
Write us an email at [email protected] and describe as precisely as possible:
- which show or content is affected (title, date, link or ID)
- which rights you believe are being infringed
- in what capacity you hold these rights (for example author, rights holder, label)
We review the case, contact the producer or station if necessary and take appropriate measures, for example a provisional block of the content. Our goal is an amicable solution without unnecessary cease-and-desist letters or court proceedings.
We therefore explicitly ask you to take the direct route via us first. A chargeable cease-and-desist letter without prior contact does not match our understanding of fair conflict resolution.
9. Termination and deletion
You can terminate or have your account deleted at any time by sending an email to [email protected]. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts in the event of violations of these rules, prolonged inactivity or for good cause.
10. Commercial use
The platform and the content obtained through it may not be used for the commercial purposes of third parties or for unsolicited advertising.
B. Rules for the forum and the community
1. General
The operator is Ätherklang e.V. (see legal notice). The forum is generally open to everyone. We reserve the right to exercise our domiciliary rights and may exclude users in the event of violations. There is no legal entitlement to use the forum or to specific features.
2. Registration and credentials
Posting in the forum requires registration with a real name and a valid email address. Credentials must be kept secret. The account is not transferable.
3. Content and conduct
We expect mutual tolerance and a factual tone. Insults, unlawful content, racist statements or statements glorifying violence, pure advertising without added value and posts that infringe the rights of third parties are forbidden. Posts should be related to radio and carry meaningful titles.
4. Consequences of violations
We may edit, block or delete posts. In the case of serious or repeated violations we suspend accounts immediately. Re-registration is then not permitted.
5. Responsibility and indemnification
You are responsible for your own posts. You indemnify Syndications4Radio against all third-party claims arising from your content (including reasonable costs of legal defence).
6. Data protection
We treat personal data confidentially. You can find the details in the separate privacy policy. Spam via email addresses or private messages is forbidden.
Final provisions
Should any provision of these rules be invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. Changes to these terms of use will be announced by email. By continuing to use the platform you accept the changes.
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. The place of jurisdiction is, as far as legally permissible, the registered office of Syndications4Radio.
